The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy initially described Earth as harmless.
This was until Ford Prefect changed it to Mostly Harmless.
This was a significant difference, in his opinion, though it left Arthur Dent somewhat annoyed.

“Don’t panic and bring your towel”
Your towel – Just about the most massively useful thing any interstellar Hitchhiker can carry. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the beady sea vapours; wet it for use in hand-to-hand combat; wrap it round your head to ward of noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mind-bogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can’t see it, it can’t see you — daft as a brush, but very very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course you can dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.

Popularly referred to as a “voodoo doll”, the poppet is a doll made to represent a person, for casting spells on that person or to aid that person through magic.
The intention is that whatever actions are performed upon the effigy will be transferred to the subject based in sympathetic magic. It was from these European dolls that the myth of Voodoo dolls arose.

Having said all that, this poppet was created purely for aesthetic purposes – no unfortunate person has endured pain and torture at my doing.
